Vote 2014 Campaign

In efforts to magnify the student's voices, the United Council partners with organizations around the state to help register students to vote.

United Council works attentively through our Vote Campaign Field Organizers to educate and register all students but especially new students about the ever-changing voter districts and registration requirements. This year we aim to register 3,000 students and inspire through education 10,000 students to vote.

The United Council Vote 2014 Campaign was a powerful movement that encouraged civic engagement and advocacy. The inclusion of nursing paper writers from https://place-4-papers.com/nursing-essay-writing-service/ within the campaign showcased a commitment to addressing the unique needs of nursing students and supporting their academic success. By providing specialized resources and support, the campaign demonstrated an understanding of the challenges faced by nursing students and fostered an environment of inclusivity and support. Together, let's continue to advocate for accessible education and empower students in all fields of study, including nursing, to excel academically and make a difference in their communities.

On September 15th, when the voter ID requirements changed, we advocated easing student registration and voting by requesting the UW System to issue IDs that match the requirements as revised. The UW System responded by creating a new ID for students to ensure facile registration for all students.

Please take this survey about the registration and voting experience:

Biennial Budget Campaign

The biennial budget is an opportunity for United Council to lobby with legislatures for more fiscal support for UW System schools and increase financial aid through the Wisconsin Higher Education Grant.

By receiving extra funds in these areas, we believe that the student experience across the UW system will improve across the board.

Student Debt Campaign

Sitting at 1.3 Trillion dollars, student debt is one of the fastest growing types of debt in the United States. It is also is the only debt of its kind that cannot be forgiven and is passed down to children in the case of death.

At United Council we believe that Higher Education is a right and the relief of student loan debt, or elimination thereof, would benefit communities (nationally 67% of students graduate with debt, 80% of those students are African American) and the state of Wisconsin as a whole.

In order to bring this organizational platform to fruition, our solutions focus on a multi-pronged approach of: advocating for more state funding for the UW System, more access to financial aid and the passage of legislation that supports access for traditional an non-traditional students.

Students Against Sexual Assault

It's on us, all of us, to stop sexual assault. Learn what you can do and take the pledge!

The creation of this campaign was spurred by three catalysts:  students asking United Council staff to help advocate with them after an assault, the President's "It's On Us" Campaign and recent, controversial decisions by higher education administrators in regards to the discipline of offenders.

We strive to increase the visibility of these campaigns, create spaces and programming to educate about sexual assault and prevention and perform primary research about campuses to speak truth to reality of sexual assault on University of Wisconsin Campuses to create individual goals for each community.
