Below we ask if you are graduating because we would like to celebrate your achievements and we're celebrating our leaders at the SWAG June 5th-7th at UW-Milwaukee.

Given to a recognized student leader, this award recognizes the planning and presentation of an outstanding program or activity. New approaches to programming, creative innovation, successful marketing strategies, and/or effective utilization of budget and resources are all factors which might distinguish an outstanding program. Programs will be judged on originality, creativity, popularity, value to the community, and degree to which the program fulfilled the intended purpose.
This award is presented to a school that provided meaningful community outreach that demonstrated care and respect for others in the surrounding community and fostered growth and learning for those involved. This is a school that brought a large amount of new student throughout the year to important events like Joint Finance Committee Hearings, conferences, Board of Regent meetings, Student Government meetings, BSU meetings, LU meetings, SWAGs, Reps, etc.
The Outstanding Collaborative Program award acknowledges two or more (2+) recognized student organizations on a campus program, project, or event organized and completed through their collaborative efforts. This award is based on the concept of encouraging recognized student organizations to demonstrate the collaborative spirit by seeking out other organizations to achieve a common goal. Consideration will be given to programs that explored and fostered innovative and efficient ways of reaching and involving diverse student audiences, while integrating the purpose of all organizations involved.

This award recognizes an individual(s) who consistently demonstrates high academic achievement, exemplifies service to Shared Governance and displays outstanding leadership qualities. This award is open to undergraduates not graduating in 2015.

The Inclusive Captain award recognizes a student who not only embraces but advocates for human difference, equity and respect. Considerations will be given to those who are committed to diversity efforts and serve as an inclusive role-model. Further consideration will be given to those who through their actions, recognize the complexity of social and diversity issues, and do not hesitate to be a part of the solution at a Shared Governance level.

This award is given to a student who, in an unassuming and subtle manner, has made a significant difference, behind the scenes, in United Council. This individual may not hold an executive leadership position within an organization, but consistently works to improve shared governance. This award will recognize someone who goes above and beyond their responsibilities as a general member and does so to enhance the overall outcome of a program, or an initiative

The Bridge Builder award recognizes students who have worked to establish or support connections between individuals and or groups to raise awareness, share knowledge, and provide solutions to community issues. The areas of collaboration can include campaigns, collaborative events and initiatives, exploration of diverse cultures, and education programs on issues that are challenging the campus and/or local community. Special attention will be given to those that have shown a commitment to exploration of diverse cultures, education about challenging issues, and/or social justice.

This award is presented to a student who makes service to the outside community a priority. This award is given to a student who has made an impact on an organization or community agency serving by being a positive role model and leading with courage, spirit and hope in service to United Council and beyond.

The Spirit of UC award recognizes students who sustain a positive attitude, show true sportsmanship, and demonstrate outstanding leadership and integrity through creative expressions of their spirit, pride, and loyalty to Shared Governance.

This award recognizes a freshmen and/or sophomore student who demonstrates outstanding involvement and initiative within United Council community while maintaining high academic achievement. This award is given to a student who is dependable, dedicated to an organization, group, team or unit and has shown significant, positive growth in their leadership skills and consistent implementation of their leadership talents. Additional consideration will be given to the student who is committed to community service, builds and maintains beneficial relationships with others, and strives to be a positive example for their peers.
